RS2 Emerger Fly

The RS2 is an emerger pattern that's used to trick some of the most selective trout anywhere in the world. Developed to be fished on technical tailwaters in Colorado like the Dream Stream and South Platte, the RS2 imitates a BWO emerger or a Trico emerger. While this is a highly effective fly when targeting picky trout, the simplistic design is relatively unassuming. The fly features a long shank hook with a small split tail, a thread body, and a small wing tuft to represent an emerging mayfly. These flies are available in several colors (Olive for BWO and black for Trico) and sizes as small as 24 to fool those highly selective trout. Choose this fly when insects are hatching or emerging on spring creeks and classic western tailwaters like the Missouri River in Montana.
