The Story

Winston designed these lines with a whole new approach. The result is a line that maximizes energy transfer from the rod to the line for ultimate line control, accuracy, and loop stability. These are great lines for a variety of flats fishing scenarios and work well when partnered with a host of modern fly rods. This is a lighter line for anglers who prioritize presentation over power. Plus, the light blue line color adds stealth to an already-delicate line. Choose the Energy Salt for Bonefish, Permit, and more.

Features

Slick Coating, Stiff Saltwater Core - Winston's slick coating features a moderate texture to reduce friction for ultimate performance in a flats setting. The Energy Salt line also has a stiffer core that's ideal for tropical climates, larger fish, and warm water temps. The stiff core also contributes to the line's low-stretch performance and better hook-setting capabilities. This line also features a line weight and fly line model marking for quick identification on the water and loops at both ends.

Uses

Control, Accuracy, and Presentation - Winston built this line for anglers who focus on control and accuracy. This isn't a line that will turn over large flies in high winds. Instead, if you're an angler looking for a line with a traditional saltwater taper that's true-to-line weight, this is a great option. It's a solid choice for Bonefish, Permit, and other tropical saltwater species that require finesse and control. This is a line that is easy to carry in the air and works well in mild conditions while wading or fishing from a boat.

Temp

Warm/Tropical - The tropical version of the Energy Salt is designed to be fished in hot climates. This means the line won't get sticky when coiled on a boat deck in hot weather or during long days in tropical climates. That being said, it'll shrivel in colder weather and won't cast/shoot as well.

Taper/Weight

Versatile Saltwater Taper - The Energy Salt features a 38' head that's true-to-line. This isn't a line that's purposefully built heavy. Instead, Winston honed the energy transfer performance on these lines to create an accurate line with a traditional taper so anglers can focus on control and delicacy. This is a great Bonefish taper and lands lightly and smoothly to increase your chances of catching picky/spooky fish.
