Uses

With their stiff characteristics, the feathers on Whiting' Coq De Leon Mayfly Tailing Pack make a great choice for tying tails on dry flies–especially adult mayflies and spinners. However, these fibers are also a popular choice when tying Euro nymph patterns like the Perdigon or Frenchie, and the feathers can be worked into tails and/or fins on streamers just as easily.

Comparisons

If you simply want stiff fibers to tie dry fly tails, then Hareline' Mayfly Tails are an excellent substitute. While these fibers are synthetic, they do shed water easily and provide all of the rigidity needed to balance your dry flies.
