Uni Clear Mylar Tinsel is clear tinsel wrapped on a spool. Being clear, many like to wrap another material on the body of their flies and then wrap the clear tinsel over that initial wrap. This serves to do two things: firstly, it adds a protective layer to the fly's body for increased durability; secondly, it adds a shine to the body that can attract fish. Many tyers like this shine when tying chironomid patterns. It is available in many different sizes, so it can be applied in multiple styles of patterns.
Uses: Wrapping Bodies to add a glossy sheen to nymphs, dry flies, or streamers.
Comparisons: This is similar material to other tinsels out there, like Opalescent Sulky or UTC pearl Tinsel; however, those ones tend to have a colored hue to them, whereas this tinsel is clear.
Example flies: Chiromnomid, Aero Dry Winged Midge, Magic Midge
