The Story

A fly that's been relied on to fool the silver king for years, the Tarpon Toad II Fly is one that you should have, whether you're casting into deep channels in the Florida Keys or open water in Brazil. Taking inspiration from Gary Merriman's original Tarpon Toad Fly, the Tarpon Toad II features a similar construction of an EP Fiber body with plastic eyes, but it has a flowing marabou tail that gives great movement in the water. Since tarpon so frequently attack from the bottom, the Tarpon Toad II is designed to hover in the water instead of sinking quickly to the bottom.

While the Tarpon Toad II Fly doesn't offer a direct imitation of any specific food source, it does a fine job at hooking tarpon and has gained immense popularity for catching these tough fish. When fishing the Tarpon Toad II Fly, it's a good idea to use a floating or slow intermediate line to keep your fly in the right zone. From there, it's all about finding just the right strip to trick your target fish. From backwater juveniles to large migratory brutes, the Tarpon Toad II Fly will help you hook them all.

Colors Available:

Chartreuse, Orange, Purple/black, Red/black, Yellow
