Product Information
A very scarce rod for sale today. We have an H.L Leonard “Centennial” rod from 1981 commemorating 100 years in Central Valley, NY. The rod is 8ft 6in 3-piece with 2 tips for a 5wt. It is modeled after the most popular rod model Leonard built in 1881. Out of 50 rods planned, Leonard only produced 38 this one is 29 out of the series. This rod is in very good condition and has definitely been fished. There are slight sets in both tips. One tip-top guide is offset slightly. Each section is full-length and seats very well. The sliding band reel seat has H.L Leonard stamped on the butt cap and a butternut wood spacer. The rattan handle has woven red silk up the length. The Stripping guide is actually a large snake guide. Straw-colored cane has full intermediate wraps that are candy apple. The finish on the rod is absolutely perfect. This is a great chance to own a piece of Leonard history. Comes with the original tube, sock, and top hat ferrul plugs. Packed into a wooden presentation box. It also comes with the original letter from Leonard with all the craftsman signatures.
