We all know how effective running a two-hand setup on large stillwater lakes can be, but oftentimes dialing in your line can be both tough and clunky; SA removes the frustration with their Integrated Switch Fly Line. A fully integrated line–built with a smooth transition from its floating tip, to shooting head, and running line–this floating switch line prevents you from needing to deal with loop-to-loop connections while providing smooth casting whether you’re sending a nymph under an indicator or slowly crawling a leech along the bottom. This line is an excellent tool for handling both wind and the rough waves places like Pyramid Lake are known for, plus its unique taper works to load a range of modern switch setups. Scientific Anglers makes this line with a braided multifilament core for colder conditions and includes a High Contrast Sighter to make finding the hang point nice and easy, while line weights 6 through 8 provide everything that you need to hit any stillwater situation you’ll find yourself in.
Features
Advanced Shooting Technology - Scientific Anglers designed their Integrated Switch Fly Line to cast effortlessly and shoot with minimal friction, and the addition of their Advanced Shooting Technology (AST) makes achieving this as easy as can be. AST is a patented dry-slick tech that gives continual line slickness while reducing friction and repelling dirt, grime, and other contaminants commonly found in the water.
SA Line ID - When it comes to fishing, it’s important to remove every bit of error you can, and Scientific Anglers’ Line ID makes it easy to always grab the right line or spool. A quick identifier, SA Line ID is an integrated marking system in the first 1’-2’ of the tip section that ensures you won’t accidentally drive into the parking lot with a 6-weight line and an 8-weight rod.
Welded Loops - With strong welded loops on both the leader to fly line connection and the backing to fly line connection, this line makes it as easy as can be to quickly rig your reel and adjust your leader setup however you need.
Uses
Streamers and Nymphs - The Integrated Switch Line provides all of the versatility needed to hit large stillwater areas. It was made for fishing nymphs–both single and mult-rigs, with or without an indicator–yet it’s a tool that you can turn to mid-afternoon when the nymph bite died down and the trout want a larger streamer for lunch.
Temp
Cold/Moderate - Whether it’s the end of November or the beginning of June, Scientific Anglers’ Integrated Switch Line can handle temps that are cold to moderate. This allows you to fish for trout for the entirety of the season.
Taper/Weight
More Mass Towards the Rear of the Head - This integrated line combines smooth casting with just the right taper to load modern switch rods. With a longer head, fishing nymphs under an indicator is nice and easy, while its overweighted construction ensures that you’re always loading the rod deep and making the most of each cast.
