The Amplitude Infinity Salt is Scientific Anglers' versatile do-it-all saltwater line built for a variety of species and applications. Like other lines with AST Plus slickness additive, the Infinity Salt is built for shooting, floating, and durability. The Infinity Salt provides the saltwater angler with ultimate versatility; if you're casting large flies in windy conditions, the line's half-size heavy head helps propel streamers through the wind. If you're targeting picky, skittish fish, the extended head length allows accuracy and delicacy at longer distances. If you need to pick up line off of the water and quickly make a shot on a cruising fish, the Infinity Salt does that too. This is truly one of the most versatile tropical saltwater fly lines on the market.
Features
AST Plus Slickness - SA has built a number of important features into this line. AST Plus slickness allows anglers to quickly shoot line with friction-minimizing performance. Welded loops on both ends allow easy leader/backing attachment. A braided multifilament core is strong and supple for versatility and durability. Amplitude Infinity Salt also features a floating texture on the tip section and a shooting texture on the running line for flotation in the front half of the line and castability in the back half.
Uses
Versatile Saltwater, Big Flies, Windy Conditions - This is a line built for a variety of saltwater species in a multitude of angling conditions. SA calls it the go-to line for all saltwater species and they designed it with versatility in mind. The extended head length and the half-size heavy build make this line great for shooting line quickly or presenting smaller flies to picky fish. Add all of the technology SA has built into this line and it's easy to see why it's a great line for Tarpon, Bonefish, Snook, Permit, and much more.
Temp
Tropical/Warm - SA's Tropi-Core Technology means that this line is built for tropical climates. Amplitude Infinity Salt works best in water temps and air temps that are warm or tropical, and the fly line is designed for maximum performance in a flats/skiff scenario. Due to its warm water design, this line will shrivel in cold weather or cold water.
Taper/Weight
Extended Head Length/Built a Half Size Heavy - The head of the WF8F version of this line weighs in at 330gr with a total head length of 49'. This means that while the head is heavy for an 8wt, not all of the mass is concentrated in the front of the fly line like other shooting-style lines. This allows anglers to shoot line if the scenario calls for it or present smaller flies accurately if a Permit cruises by. Bottom line: this is one of the most versatile fly lines in tropical saltwater fly fishing.
