Design
Large Arbor Multipurpose Design – The SHIFT LT utilizes a large arbor format to maximize retrieval speed, improve backing capacity, and maintain consistent line management throughout the fight. Its rigid, ready-for-anything architecture keeps the spool tracking true under pressure from a tough fish, while an integrated counterweight enhances rotational balance for smoother startup and retrieve. On the 9/10 model, an increased bushing length reduces internal play and eliminates the wobble often found in larger reels, resulting in a more stable and confidence-inspiring platform when pressure is at its highest.

The One Revolution drag knob features 40 numbered, indented settings, allowing for fast, precise adjustments when conditions --or fish--change without warning.

Materials – The SHIFT LT’s drag discs are made from a proprietary, high-grade U.S.-made carbon--the same class of material used in the braking systems of jets and Formula 1 race cars. Carbon is exceptionally efficient at handling high pressure and dissipating the extreme heat generated during long, powerful runs, converting kinetic energy into thermal energy without compressing, deteriorating, melting, or producing excessive heat. Unlike other drag materials, carbon maintains its structural integrity over time, allowing Sage to engineer compact drag systems that remain stable, durable, and long-lasing. Warranty

Sage Warranty – As of January 2026, Sage reels are backed by a manufacturer’s warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship for the original owner. Damage caused by misuse, neglect, normal wear, or improper maintenance is not covered, and Sage reserves the right to repair or replace products at their discretion.
