After some experimenting, he landed on a construction consisting of a multicolored Simi Seal dubbing, a hot red glass bead, and finished the fly off with a cone head to produce that enticing jig action. It wasn't long before Brian found that this pattern caught fish very well and was a strong choice anywhere leeches might be found.
Although the Ruby Eyed Leech Fly was created with lakes and ponds in mind, this is a pattern that's effective anywhere leeches swim.
