The Sink Tip version of Royal Wulff's Triangle Taper is ideal for swinging wet flies, emergers, or small streamers. This is a great line for single-hand Spey tactics or roll casting smaller flies for trout and other freshwater species. That being said, it's also a great line to overhead cast as the taper encourages effortless energy transfer throughout the line. This is a highly practical line for everything from Bass on a lake to streamer-eating trout on your favorite large river.
Features
J3 Coating - Royal Wulff's J3 Coating causes the line to sink quicker, shoot farther, and repel water for ultimate performance. The slick coating has a 'dry feel' which helps minimize friction through the guides and increases the life of the line. The line's durability and dirt-repelling capabilities can also be attributed to this coating. The sink tip version of this line is available in an ivory/grey color scheme.
Uses
Delicate Presentations, Roll Casting - The Triangle Taper offers award-winning performance with a unique taper design built for delicate presentations and roll casting at short/medium ranges. The continuous forward taper allows highly efficient energy transfer throughout the cast and industry-leading roll casting abilities. The majority of the weight of the fly line is away from the fly, which leads to the line's superb delicacy and ideal performance for wet flies and swinging small streamers.
Temp
Cold/Moderate - This line is made to be used in cold and moderate climate,s including freshwater streams and rivers, lakes, and almost any climate. This line is built with a supple coldwater core and coating that keeps it stiff and durable in cold water. That being said, this line will turn limp in tropical climates and isn't meant to be used in high heat.
Taper/Weight
Continuous Forward Taper - The head of the Triangle Taper Sink Tip ranges from 36 feet to 40 feet, depending on the line size you choose. Unlike any other line, it features a continuous front taper, which means the heaviest part of the head is at the rear and the lightest is in the forward part of the line. This taper promotes wide-ranging performance from streamers to wet flies and everything in between. The tip of the line sinks at 3.25-5 inches per second.
