Part of Royal Wulff's broader Ambush series of lines, the Ambush Neutralizer features a short intermediate head that's built for swinging wet flies and for fishing emergers just under the film. This line can be used for a variety of angling scenarios, from lake fishing to river fishing and everything in between. Stripping small streamers just under the surface in Alaska? This is a great line. Fishing emergers or swinging wet flies in the western US? This is a line that will change your game and help you catch more fish.
Features
J3 Coating - Royal Wulff's J3 Coating causes the line to float higher, shoot farther, and repel water for ultimate performance. The slick coating has a 'dry feel' which helps minimize friction through the guides and increases the life of the line. The line's durability and dirt-repelling capabilities can also be attributed to this coating. The floating/intermediate version of this line is available in a bright green/blue color scheme.
Uses
Shooting-Style Casts, Wet Flies - This is really a fly line for swinging wet flies and fishing emergers. The 'intermediate' head sinks at 1 inch per second to keep your fly just under the surface of the water. Plus, the taper is relatively short and aggressive, which makes this an easy line to cast short distances or shoot long distances. If you need to load a fast-action rod quickly and are fishing emergers or wet flies, this is the line for you.
Temp
Cold/Moderate - This line is made to be used in cold and moderate climates, including freshwater streams and rivers, lakes, and almost any climate. This line is built with a supple coldwater core and coating that keeps it stiff and durable in cold water. That being said, this line will turn limp in tropical climates and isn't meant to be used in high heat.
Taper/Weight
Easy-Loading Front Taper - The Ambush Neutralizer, like other lines in the Ambush series, is designed to quickly load fast-action fly rods. As such, the front taper is short and aggressive for maximum shootability. The short, slow-sinking head encourages quick recasts and is ideal for swinging wet flies or fishing emergers. The head of the line remains submerged just below the film to fool finicky trout and sinks at 1 inch per second.
