The Parachute Blue Winged Olive BWO Dry Fly is tied with a dubbed olive body and dun tail and hackling to closely imitate the naturals, and its wide range of sizes matches everything from those tiny Baetis of early spring to the larger summer Drunellas.
The Parachute Blue Winged Olive should be fished like most dry flies and drifted without any drag to increase success. And since BWOs are such a prevalent mayfly, the only time that you should leave this fly at home is in the dead of winter, and even then, you never know when a hatch of tiny olives will pour off of the water and get the trout rising.
