AST Plus Slickness - Orvis has built a number of important features into this line. AST Plus Slickness allows anglers to quickly shoot line with friction-minimizing performance. Welded loops on both ends allow easy leader/backing attachment. A durable line core is strong and supple for versatility and lasting performance.
Uses
Freshwater, Streamers, Deep Water - The Pro Depth Charge 3D is a sinking line, designed for deepwater scenarios or situations when you need a fly to sink quickly. The line's triple-density makeup helps flies sink evenly for better strike detection and line feel. This is a great line for swinging streamers, fishing lakes and still water, and targeting predatory fish in deep water. This line is available in a variety of sizes to fit all of your freshwater or saltwater needs.
Temp
Cold/Moderate - This line is made to be used in cold and moderate climates, including freshwater streams and rivers, lakes almost any climate. That being said, this line will turn limp in tropical climates and isn't meant to be used in high heat.
Taper/Weight
Simple Sinking Taper - The simple sinking taper of the Orvis Pro Depth Charge 3D is similar to other sinking lines on the market. This line has a 30' front section, a 1' transition, and a 20' body, so you can worry about the fishing instead of the casting. While this line isn't made for mending or delicate presentations, it casts really well with streamers and is built with a durable design for long-lasting performance.
