The Mr. Hankey Fly was designed by Jeff Hickman as a pattern to imitate mice, voles, and other small rodents, and it is tied with a trailing hook to prevent gut hooking fish and missing short strikes, a realistic tail, a foam back for excellent buoyancy, and an ability to push water, as well as a fur body and rubber legs.
The Mr. Hankey Fly is created to catch large fish, whether it is bass, trout, or pike. This fly should be fished on a short and stout leader to help land heavy fish and prevent your fly from twisting while casting.
