Larva Lace Angel Hair

Larva Lace's Angel Hair is a sure-fire way to increase the flash and glimmer on your patterns. Angel Hair is a finely shredded mylar flash material that's super lightweight and comes in 6-8 inch strands. This material can be added to streamers to increase their flash, but you can also use it to tie whole flies just the same. Unlike other flashes on the market, Angel Hair does a great job at subtly blending into materials like bucktail and synthetics to create a glowing effect that doesn't add any extra weight. Uses

Angel Hair is most commonly used as an added flash material to flies, but it has other uses outside of that. With its fine quality, you can cut this flash up and mix it into dubbing or even add it into complex dubbing loops. Also, Angel Hair has been used to tie entire streamer bodies, with Dave Skok's Mushmouth and Bob Popovics's Surf Candy being two great examples.

Comparisons

Another option for a thinly shredded mylar flash in the 6-8 inch range is Hareline's Ripple Ice Fiber. This flash is also lightweight and easily worked into streamers, dubbing blends, and can be used to tie flies, but the one difference is that Angel Hair tends to be just a little bit more straight and easier to work with right out of the package. Apart from that characteristic, these flashes are pretty similar.
