$0.70The Story
A versatile material, Hareline's Pearlescent Sheets have you covered whether winding a slim and flashy body on a nymph, cutting a pair of realistic dragonfly wings, or creating a flashy scud back. Pearlescent Sheets are made from a pearlescent, semi-translucent synthetic material that's durable and easy to cut to accommodate a wide variety of uses. From streamers and nymphs to dry flies and crustaceans, these mylar sheets do it all.
Uses
Pearlescent Sheets can be used for a variety of purposes, but a few of the most common are wingcases on nymphs, backs on scuds/sowbugs, wound bodies on nymphs and streamers, and you can even cut the sheets into the perfect wing for a host of different dry fly imitations. Whether you're adding a small ribbing on a nymph or cutting a large pair of wings, these sheets can be cut however you need for the fly you're tying.
Comparisons
Hedron's Mirage Opal Sheet is a very similar material. Both of these materials are essentially synthetic flashy sheets that can be cut however you like, but the main difference is that Hareline's Pearlescent Sheets have a more pearlescent color, and, you guessed it, Hedron's Mirage Opal Sheet has a more opal appearance. Either option leads to effective flashy flies, so the choice is ultimately up to you and the end result you're after.
