Uses

These hooks were made with streamer applications in mind and they do a fantastic job at imitating small to medium-sized baitfish, however, they’re also an excellent choice when tying big nymphs such as stonefly and dragonfly patterns.

With their TMC 5262 Heavy Nymph and Streamer Hooks, Tiemco gives a comparable alternative to Hanak’s Competition 970BL Hooks. Just like the 970BL, the TMC 5262 are made with a heavy wire and feature a 2x long shank, which makes them an equally great choice when tying streamers and large nymphs. While these are a good alternative to the 970BL, there are a few differences like the TMC 5262’s bronze finish, its slightly smaller gap, and a downturned eye, so if you’re looking for the stealth of a black nickel finish or need to increase your gap, Hanak’s 970BL might be a better choice.
