The Story

When you’re pursuing the “fish of 10,000 casts” and chucking flies that make a 16-ounce beer look small, you need every advantage that you can get. G. Loomis has you covered for long days, big flies, heavy lines, and four-foot esox with their IMX-Pro Musky Fly Rod. Handcrafted in Woodland, Washington with the help of master musky guide Chris Willen, the IMX Pro features Loomis’ Conduit Core tech–Conduit Core decreases the weight of your rod by removing excessive wraps of graphite and replacing them with a proprietary material that’s equally strong yet significantly lighter–to make all-day casting affairs a breeze. Built with a Cloud Composite Magnum Grip, this rod becomes the ultimate tool for figure-eighting your way into an eat, whether you’re standing on the banks or have your arm deep in the water looking for serious bruisers. Made in 9’ 11 and 12 weight models with a fast-action, this series of rods has everything that you need when tackling musky and trophy pike, and you can fish this rod with confidence whether you’re drifting a large river in Wisco’, seeking monsters in Lake St. Clair, or searching out predators in your local spillway.

Blank

Conduit Core - At the heart of the IMX-Pro Musky Rods, you’ll find G. Loomis’ Conduit Core Blank. Conduit Core is a proprietary technology that Loomis uses to decrease the weight of this rod by replacing excess graphite with a proprietary material that’s considerably lighter yet equally strong. This technology is exactly what will reduce the work involved in those long days spent casting hefty flies, full sink lines, and tugging on massive predators.

While Loomis’ Conduit Core technology is an excellent addition to this series, there’s still more. The IMX-Pro Musky Rods also feature G. Loomis’ Multi-Taper Design. Multi-Taper Design consists of “micro-tapers” integrated directly into the taper of the blank. This process allows Loomis to place more material on potential breaking points while reducing the material elsewhere. This creates a durable blank that can stand up to years of use while also keeping things light and efficient.

The IMX-Pro Musky Rods feature a stealthy black blank. Dark in color, this blank does a fine job at complementing those tannic-rich waters and large musky.

Guides

Chrome Stripper Guides - G. Loomis makes their IMX-Pro Musky Rods with Chrome Stripper Guides, which are super durable and slick for quick line speed. They’ve also put three of these stripper guides on this series of rods in order to increase durability.

Chrome Single-Foot Snake Guides - Made of chrome, these snake guides, like the stripper guides, are durable and give excellent line speed. However, with Loomis’ Single-Foot design, you get a considerably more lightweight set of guides. In fact, utilizing these Single-Foot Snake Guides is the equivalent of removing two full snake guides from the blank.

Reel Seat

Custom Aluminum Up-Locking Reel Seat - Designed to put a secure hold on your reel while remaining lightweight and durable, G. Loomis uses a Custom Aluminum Up-Locking Reel Seat on this series of rods. An excellent choice, its color complements the blank while its construction prevents loose reels and can hold its own no matter how tough the day gets.

Rod Tube

Chasing musky often requires a ton of work, and whether it requires you boarding a plane or getting into a boat, you can do it with peace of mind knowing that your musky rod will be safe and sound in Loomis’ tube and cloth rod bag.

Warranty

As of May 2022, G. Loomis’ IMX-Pro Musky Rod is covered by their limited lifetime warranty. This covers non-conformities in workmanship and materials for the life of the original owner. A receipt or proof of purchase is necessary, and rods must be registered with G. Loomis within 30 days of purchasing in order to be eligible for the warranty. Should you break your rod due to abuse, neglect, wear and tear, or alteration, your rod will be repaired or replaced for a fee. G. Loomis also reserves the right to refuse service on any claim.
