A common baitfish found in warm to tropical southern environments, pinfish are a preferred meal for anything from tarpon and snook to jack crevalle and redfish and their significance should never be overlooked. The EP Pinfish Fly is an excellent imitation for these striped wide-body baitfish. Tied almost entirely out of EP Fibers with added flash throughout, this fly has a near-exact pinfish profile and its striped olive over white body does a fine job at imitating the look of these minnows. The EP Pinfish is also equipped with a weed guard to let you cast into those treacherous spots without fear.
Pinfish can be found in a variety of places ranging from open beaches, tidal estuaries, rivers, and in the mangroves, so it’s a good idea to carry this fly regardless of where you’re fishing.
