The Story

On those cold early mornings when you're chasing tails and need to send flies that are big and/or heavy, Cortland's new Col Salt Redfish Line is just the right choice. Pairing a short and aggressive taper with a 5' back taper, this line turns over weighted flies while making for quick loading and makes fast presentations to cruising fish. To keep your line supple and ready for use in cold water situations, Cortland uses a braided nylon multifilament core, and with line weight options ranging from a 6 through 10, they have you covered whether you're chasing juveniles in a tight creek or casting massive Game Changers to bull reds in the Louisiana winter.

Features

Dual Welded Loops - Whether you're dealing with your backing-to-fly line connection or fly line-to-leader connection, there's no doubt that welded loops greatly simplify things. With their Cold Salt Redfish Line, Cortland equips the line with dual welded loops. These loops are super strong and incredibly easy to use, giving you the best of both worlds in terms of functionality and convenience.

Shooting Technology (ST) - A technology created to decrease friction in your cast while increasing distance and shootability, Cortland's Shooting Technology gives this line a super-smooth finish that will last for your line's life.

X-Strong Core - To handle the needs of strong fish like bull reds, this line has Cortland's proprietary X-Strong Core that has a tough weave and high pick count so you can apply power where you need it.

Cold Salt - To further increase the Cold Salt Redfish Line's durability, Cortland integrates their Cold Salt technology. Cold Salt is a proprietary technology that keeps your line super durable and supple while decreasing any memory in your line.

Uses

Streamers, Poppers, and Crustaceans - Whether the reds are digging for crabs in the mud, looking up for the surface commotion of a popper, or chasing large streamers, this line delivers them all with ease. Combining a floating density with a compact taper, this line turns over flies and makes for effortless presentations.

Temp

Cold to Warm - Cortland builds the Cold Salt Redfish line to handle cold to warm water temps. This lets you work with a range that runs from about 50 degrees all the way up to 70 degrees without issue. This covers a wide range of environments that redfish call home.

Taper/Weight

Short Compact Taper - The Cold Salt Redfish Fly Line was made to load fast action rods and make quick, effortless casts both near and far. This is achieved through a compact and aggressive taper that features a 5' back taper to quickly load your rod with minimal false casting.
