The Story

Combining their ever-loved 444 Classic Line with a 10' sinking tip, Cortland's Classic 444 Sink Tip Fly Line is the perfect tool whenever you need to get down deep while keeping your running line afloat. Designed with a sink tip that sinks at 3-4 IPS and a floating running line, this line gets your flies down quickly with less fear of snagging, and its thin running line provides easy handling while casting and retrieving. The Classic 444 Sink Tip Fly Line features a compact taper that reliably loads just about any rod and also allows you to cast into windy conditions and/or present large air-resistant flies. A versatile line, the Classic 444 Sink Tip Fly Line is made in weights 4 through 9, and whether you're looking to cast large articulated streamers at hungry pike or send a dragonfly nymph down deep in a Stillwater environment, this line can do it all.

Features

Front Welded Loop - It's hard to beat the convenience of a loop-to-loop connection, which is why Cortland outfits its Classic 444 Sink Tip Fly Line with a Front Welded Loop. This loop is strong and reliable, and it greatly simplifies changing your leader.

Uses

Streamers, Nymphs, and Wet Flies - A safe bet anytime you want to get flies down deep, Cortland's Classic 444 Sink Tip Fly Line will let you fish anything from small nymphs to large streamers. Crafted in a range of line weights, there's an option in the Classic 444 Sink Tip lineup whether you're crawling small nymphs over a lake bottom or stripping a large streamer on a warm river.

Temp

Cold to Warm - A versatile freshwater line, Cortland designs the Classic 444 Sink Tip Fly Line for fishing in cold to warm water. This temperature configuration allows you to fish in cold conditions, lakefront winter steelhead well as warm conditions like those found in a slow-moving river packed with bass in the middle of summer. And although this line can handle warm environments, tropical weather will surely soften it up, and you'll feel the line get limp.

Taper/Weight

More Mass Towards the Front of the Head - The Classic 444 Sink Tip Fly Line has an aggressive taper that concentrates the mass towards the front of the line. A 90' line, Cortland constructs the 32' head of this line with a 4' back taper, 20' body, and 8' front taper. This taper makes for consistent loading and easy casting over a range of conditions while also letting you deliver even the chunkiest flies with ease.
