The Story

Windy days spent scanning a flat with a popper in hopes of finding scooting redfish or an afternoon deep in the backcountry of the 'Glades, wherever you find yourself, Cortland's All Purpose XP Fly Line will have you ready for it all. An all-purpose floating line with an aggressive taper and overweighted head, the All Purpose XP makes it easy to overcome windy conditions while handling fast-action rods, and when you need to get added distance to your cast, Cortland's Shooting Technology has just what you need. Cortland makes this family of lines in weights 7 through 10, giving you an option for nearly any predatory fresh and saltwater fish you'll run into.

Features

Dual Welded Loops - Whether you're dealing with your backing-to-fly line connection or fly line-to-leader connection, there's no doubt that welded loops greatly simplify things. With their All Purpose XP Fly Line, Cortland equips the line with dual welded loops. These loops are super strong and incredibly easy to use, giving you the best of both worlds in terms of functionality and convenience.

Shooting Technology (ST) - A technology created to decrease friction in your cast while increasing distance and shootability, Cortland's Shooting Technology gives this line a super-smooth finish that will last for your line's life.

Tropic Plus - From toasty boat decks to hot tropical climates, Cortland outfits this line with their Tropic Plus tech. Tropic Plus is a blend of advanced polymers that gives this line a hard yet slick coating that won't diminish in hot environments.

Uses

Streamers, Crustaceans, and Poppers - With a fully floating design and compact taper, this is a line that you can turn to whether you're stripping streamers, sliding crabs in shallow water, or making commotion with a popper. This line provides excellent versatility, and its taper makes things easy when throwing air-resistant patterns in windy conditions.

Temp

Warm to Tropical - Cortland designed their All Purpose XP Line for use in temps spanning from 50 degrees to above 70. This versatile range will handle anything from warm freshwater rivers in the summer to seriously hot days in places like the Bahamas. Though if you do try and fish this line below 50 degrees, you'll find that it will quickly stiffen up.

Taper/Weight

More Mass Towards the Front of the Head - The All Purpose XP Line has an overweighted head that's made with a compact taper. This configuration makes it easy to load fast-action rods with minimal false casting while also punching bulky wind-resistant flies into rough conditions.
