The Story

When you're pursuing the gangsters of the flats, you need a line that you can trust-one that can deliver massive flies and hold its own when your drag is locked and you have a brute of a geet going deep into your backing. With their 50+ Giant Trevally Fly Line, Cortland provides the perfect tool for this job. Featuring Cortland's Fifty+ Core, this line has a breaking strength of over 50lbs, while Tropic Plus technology allows you to enter the hottest water without worrying about limp lines. A floating line available in weights 10 through 13, the 50+ Giant Trevally series has an option for trevally of all sizes, and while this line was made with GTs in mind, it's an equally effective choice when pursuing species like rooster fish in Baja and even massive crevalle jacks in Florida. An ultra-strong line with a taper that loads super fast-action rods while presenting the largest flies in your box, Cortland's 50+ Giant Trevally Fly Line has your back whether you're wading away in the Seychelles or putting the brakes on a fish that's just about to speed over the edge of an atoll.

Features

Dual Welded Loops - Whether you're dealing with your backing-to-fly line connection or fly line-to-leader connection, there's no doubt that welded loops greatly simplify things. With their 50+ Giant Trevally Fly Line, Cortland equips the line with dual welded loops, and with the addition of their Fifty+ Core, you'll never need to worry about one of these loops snapping on a trophy fish.

Fifty+ Core - Cortland knows that GTs demand some of the toughest tackle on the market, and when you have a massive fish on the other end of your line, the last thing you want to worry about is a break in the chain. Fifty+ Core provides a breaking strength of over 50 pounds and allows you to put maximum pressure on a fish without fear of a break.

Tropic Plus - Tropic Plus is Cortland's unique blend of high-tech polymers that creates a durable and slick surface that can hold up to hot water and even hotter boat decks.

Grip Set - Built for when you need to really set the hook in a tough fish, Cortland's Grip Set technology ensures that you're setting the hook perfectly when a trophy takes your fly.

Uses

Streamers and Large Poppers - When it comes to feeding Giant Trevally, big flies that create a ton of commotion and push water are the name of the game. Whether you're throwing a foot-long Beast Fleye or sending a NYAP Popper into a reef, this floating line presents them all with ease.

Temp

Warm to Tropical - From the warm waters of Australia to the hot seas of the Seychelles, Cortland builds their Cortland 50+ Giant Trevally Fly Line to handle the hottest tropical environments. This line does a fabulous job at standing up to hot waters, and if you're on a sun-baked boat, you'll never need to worry about the hot deck.

Taper/Weight

More Mass Towards the Front of the Head - Cortland builds the 50+ Giant Trevally Fly Line around making fast shots and delivering large flies. To make this nice and easy, Corland uses a unique taper that focuses the mass toward the front of the head. Starting with a 31' back taper that transitions into a 7' front taper, this line loads your rod nice and deep, while a 3' front taper provides just enough stealth to drop your fly in front of a cruising geet without fear of spooking it.
