Whether you're fishing a warm water river for rock bass and panfish or a stillwater pond for heavy rainbow trout, chances are that damselfly nymphs are on the menu, and having a solid imitation is key. Thanks to Pat Cohen and his Damsel Tails, it's never been easier to tie super-realistic damselfly nymphs. Made from ultra-suede and cut to the exact shape of a damselfly nymph's tail section, these Damsel Tails have movement and make it super simple to achieve lifelike realism without much work. Ultra-suede also takes markers very well, so you can really fine-tune the appearance of your nymphs to match exactly what your local bugs look like.
Uses
Cohen's Damsel Tails are made exclusively for tying damselfly nymph patterns. Super easy to use, simply color these tail sections however you like, tie them in, then finish up the legs, thorax, and head of your fly, and boom, you've got a true-to-life damselfly nymph in very short order.
Comparisons
Extended body damselfly patterns have been a hit for warm water and stillwater fishing for years; however, there really hasn't been a material out there that makes tying them as easy as Cohen's Damsel Tails does. Crafty tiers have used Strung Marabou wound with thread to match the slim segmented body of a damselfly nymph, but that's cumbersome to work with and not so durable. With Cohen's Damsel tail, neither of those problems exists, which is why there really isn't anything out there to compare them to.
