The Chiron Pupa is tied on a bent hook (as opposed to the Chiron Bomber tied on a straight hook) to imitate a Chironomid wriggling free of its shuck. Both flies are equally effective during different times of the year/stages of the insect. The red and black Chiron Pupa effectively imitates the color scheme of the most popular Chironomids and fools fish over and over again. This is a fly that should be used in a stillwater setting (lake, pond, etc.) or wherever Chironomids are present.
