Black Beauty Fly

The Black Beauty was designed to imitate heavy concentrations of tailwater midges. On many tailwaters around the US and beyond, bottom-release dams keep the rivers cold and clear year-round. In these fisheries, fish feed on plentiful food, including a large variety of midges. These trout can be difficult to fool, but this midge pattern features a simple design that's known for fooling picky fish. The fly features a thread body, copper wire ribbing, and a dubbing ball for a head.
