The fly's soft hackle collar gives it tons of movement in the water to attract feeding fish from a long distance. The Tungsten bead head also helps this fly drop into deeper pools quickly and spend a maximum amount of time in the feeding zone of a holding trout. This is a great pattern to use as a point fly on a double nymph rig or a Euro nymphing setup. Fish eat this fly as a stonefly nymph, mayfly nymph, and really any other type of nymph that's present in the river system. This is also a great fly to use as a dropper on a larger foam dry fly, like a hopper or a Chubby Chernobyl. Guides collect large numbers of these nymphs because it's incredibly productive and easy to fish.
