The Story

From imitating garden hackle after a heavy thunderstorm to matching the red worms in its home river, the Bead Head San Juan Worm Fly just works. Tied very similarly to the original San Juan Worm that was appropriately invented on the San Juan River, the Bead Head San Juan Worm has a chenille body with an added bead in the thorax. With the addition of a bead, you get a little faster sink as well as a tiny bit of flash that works wonders on stocked fish.

The Bead Head San Juan Worm is best fished on a dead drift, either under an indicator or on a tight line, but since it also works as an attractor pattern, you can implement it in a multi-nymph system with confidence. And as far as the best place to fish it, it's tough to find an environment where the Bead Head San Juan Worm won't work...from backyard ponds, wild brookies in white riffles, to western tailwaters, the San Juan Worm can handle it all.

Flourescent Pink, Red, Worm Brown
