Baby Boy Hopper Fly

A smaller take on fishing grasshoppers, the Baby Boy Hopper Fly is a versatile pattern that you can take on a small high meadow stream with wild trout or the weedy farm pond packed with bluegills. Designed by Charlie Craven, this cute little hooper pattern was made for matching the early-season immature grasshoppers. Tied with a segmented body of foam, elk hair wing, and rubber legs, this fly floats like a cork and can handle even the roughest currents.

The Baby Boy Hopper is a pattern that you can take almost anywhere--slow water, fast water, deep water, shallow water, small water, big water, or still water. This fly can handle whatever you throw at it. With it is smaller size, this hopper provides a stealthier approach, yet it is still buoyant enough to use in the ol Hopper Dropper rig and maintains that enticing 'splat' when dropped on the surface.
